Bodies
In this weekend:
- Experiential, multi-sensory worship
- Embodying Christ's welcome through liturgy
- Designing worship for all bodies
When was the last time you were reminded in worship that you even have a body? Jesus coughed, had muscles that got sore and probably had callouses on his feet. He got pleasure from eating and drinking, oil massage, singing and hiking.
In worship we move, we sing, we sneeze, we listen, we smell, we taste, we feel. We do not leave our bodies at the door.
What does this mean for us?
The Christ Story is all about enfleshment of the Holy One. How do we enact this central mystery in worship? The words of the Lord's Prayer invite us to bring spiritual things to earth, and yet sometimes we resist. Paul used the metaphor of Body for the church, yet we are tempted to neglect our physical world in preference to esoteric, heavenly things.
This weekend, we explore how the people of God embody the presence of Christ.
Register now! Deadline: January 7, 2011
